Themes will not delete on WP theme page nor ftp back end

  • One theme 2020 has a delete link but doesn’t completely delete. “Deletion failed: Could not fully remove the theme twentytwenty.”

    Twenty Nineteen Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet. Delete
    Twenty Seventeen Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet.”

    There is always an error when I try to delete using ftp, it gives this message: “cannot remove server folder. Directory is not empty, or there may be a permission problem.”

    The same “permission issue” happens when I try to delete the plugin Askimet, this has been occurring on a couple other sites too.

    Yes as stated. There is always an error when I try to delete using ftp, it gives this message: “cannot remove server folder. Directory is not empty, or there may be a permission problem.”

    If you can’t remove the folder via FTP, I suggest you to contact your hosting company and ask them for help. There is a permission issue which is not related to WordPress
