I am pulling out my hair, I can’t get theme or wordpress translations to work.

I am creating a multi language blog with the qtranslation plugin which works great, the posts are being translated and work properly. The problem is the theme is not pulling in the language po/mo files for all of the label translations.

these files were supplied by the person who created the theme and were not something I created. I have them sitting in the wp-content/languages folder.

I took a look at the following post and still could not figure it out.

The strange thing I am noticing is that it is translating just one label and I am not sure were it is getting the translation from that it won’t translate anything else. Recent Posts is translating to Ultimos mensajes when es_ES is selected.

What could I be doing wrong?

Apache 2.2 php 5.2.2 with gettext compiled in php.

In doing some more research I found that the one tag that is being translated is being pulled in from the .po file. If I change the translation of that one label in the file it update on the site.

Does anyone have any idea why only 1 label would translate while none of the rest will?

As it turns out, whoever created the translation did not match up the original text exactly, therefore it was not changing the text.

After going through everything and making sure it matches exactly, it is now translating properly.
