Themes & Elementor

Hi,

Apologies if this is the wrong forum area, I think it’s right :-S

I’m new to this whole website creation/wordpress thing so please forgive me for any noob questions!

I’m trying to build my new website. I now have Elementor Pro, but when I first started trying to build the site,I selected a basic theme to get going. However, I’m now really confused as to how I’m supposed to build a site with Elementor on top of a theme. Do I remove my existing theme and start building with Elementor (and if so, how do I do this?), OR do I use Elementor in addition to a theme (if so, how do I do this? Are there any instructional videos which would help?)
