• I’ve uploaded 5 themes to the themes folder and non of them show up on my presentation page. Yes I have made sure its the actual folder itself that’s been uploaded.
    Does it have something to do with the version of WordPress? I have Version 2.0.2

  • I forgot to say that WordPress address (URI) and Blog address (URI) are both https://epithesisnow.com — Thanks again…

    Another little mystery: when I unzip the theme files, I get a whole bunch of MS Digital Image Documents which the MS Digital Image program fails to open — it simply freezes and I have to go to Task Manager to stop it… I thought most of the documents would be text (OK, newbie talk…) Thanks.

    ats, go to
    Dashboard > Options > General
    set
    WordPress address (URI): https://epithesisnow.com/wordpress/
    set
    Blog address (URI): https://epithesisnow.com/

    Hope this helps

    nadir: thanks for your response.

    In fact, I did just as you suggested a while ago as I was tweaking with Options>General. The result was that WP went completely out of whack returning error pages when I clicked tabs on the Dashboard plus when I clicked View Site, it returned a page listing all the elements of the first page of the blog but without a theme.

    At that point, I went back to CPanel, erased the WP installation, and re-installed it in a directory I called “WordPress.” Then, I uploaded the themes I was talking about again.

    I’m glad to report “improvement.” I now have Broken Themes instead of no themes at all. WP says “Stylesheet is missing.”

    Under Options>General WordPress address (URI) and Blog Address (URI) are both https://epithesisnow.com/wordpress/

    The names of the uploaded themes are cub-reporter and mw1.1.

    It looks like that code is indeed poetry, but of the slightly goofy kind…

    Take a look here:

    https://www.epithesisnow.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/

    The cub-reporter folder contains a subfolder called cub-reporter, which would seem to be where the actual theme files live.

    Same for MW1.1 and DM. Move the files into the correct locations, and your themes should work.

    LesBessant: You are a savior! It did work!

    FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM here’s the step-by-step:

    1) Let “Test Theme” be the theme that does not appear under Presentation but seems to reside under Themes.
    2) Go to your File Manager under Themes and click “Test Theme” to open it; if there is another file named “Test Theme” under “Test Theme” go back up one level;
    3) Rename “Test Theme” under Themes into anything, eg “Test;”
    4) Go back down one level and grab the “second” “Test Theme” and push it up one level to Themes;
    5) Erase “Test” and you’re home.

    Again, LesBessant, thanks for saving me from so much more tweaking!
