• I updated my package with 1 and 1 and found that I have the WP blog option, so I started a blog. I am very new to these, but I looked around the WP site for themes, plugins, and etc. since the default themes from 1 and 1 are “ok” but not spectacular (in the sense that I feel any of them are a great fit). I was wondering if there was any way to “install” themes with 1 and 1’s setup, or if I needed to install WP separately and use my install rather than theirs? I am extremely new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. ??

  • If your account is a self hosted one then you should be able to upload any theme or plugin of your choice regardless of who you are hosting with.

    Thanks for your response ??

It is self hosted, but 1 and 1 provides an interface to modify the content of the blog and *some* options, but I do not see a section of the interface to add any additional themes or plugins – only to choose between what they provide.

*Edit: Basically I am hoping to get around this and add some stuff ??

Have you tried logging into your blog using https://domain_name/wp-admin ? As far as I’m aware, 1 & 1 just do a 1-click install of a standard WordPress blog. After that you can login to the blog’s Admin area as usual. You don’t have to use their interface.
