Themes and option incompatibilities

  • I find that some themes will not display my prefered options properly. Example; I set my post display options to only show the post summaries. Yet some themes only display the full page, no matter what. This causes some distortion on the page, as some entries are long.

    Is there any way around ths please, if a chosen theme will not work properly? I really want to work with quadruple blue 1.0, but posts are shown in full, with some distortion as it scrolls down. I am currently using Ocean Mist, but there are no archives button in this theme! And categories are at the very bottom!

    Is chosing a theme really so hit and miss, or is there any guide I can use? Thanks for any advice. Mark.
