• I logged into wp-admin today for the first time in a long time and clicked Appearance once in the dashboard only to have my site break with the style-custom.css error. I renamed my functions.php file in my theme’s folder only to regain access to wp-admin at which point I stupidly decided to update wordpress to the latest version (4.4.2?) I cannot even find out what previous version of wordpress I was running.

my website is: dnbdose.com and is hosted through Go Daddy

When I load my homepage I receive the following errors:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in D:\Hosting\10270050\html\wp-includes\plugin.php on line 678

Fatal error: Class 'WP_Widget' not found in D:\Hosting\10270050\html\wp-content\plugins\image-widget\image-widget.php on line 24

I messed around with renaming some of the files through FTP and even got plugins.hold to work once, but another issue is that a lot of my folders across wp-content, wp-admin, and wp-includes do not have permission to be edited. I do not know how I was able to have permission briefly to rename plugins to plugins.hold and at this point my lack of knowledge has left me without a solution.

Can somebody please help me revive my website? I fear in the end I will have to lose all my content and basically start over!

    Thanks!

  • I am in the same spot of trouble. Two sites of ours are now down and need help urgently.

I was able to change the permissions of the wp-content folder to 0777 via FTP and then was able to rename the plugins folder to plugins.hold.

Now this is the error I see when loading my home page:

Fatal error: Class 'WP_Widget' not found in D:\Hosting\10270050\html\wp-includes\widgets\class-wp-widget-pages.php on line 17

I deleted the wp-admin and wp-includes folder VIA ftp and copied over the 4.4.2 folders hoping that would fix the issue.

The same class-wp-widget-pages.php on line 17 errors from above occurs and I’m wondering if it has to do with wp-content not being up to date/lacking the twentysixteen theme files as I understand 4.4.2 makes twentysixteen the default theme.

I have no idea what to do next or what steps to take to resolve this issue to regain access to my website let alone wp-admin. Is all my previous content gone? From my understanding its saved in the wp-content folder which I have left untouched aside from plugins.hold and renaming my theme in an attempt to make the site default to wordpress standard theme.

    Can somebody please help me!?
