When I installed the webfolio theme its just acting weird… no thumbnail preview next to the theme name on the themes screen and when I activate it… it has no formatting its just like a generic text page. Twenty Twelve works fine… but not webfolio.

So I did a another fresh install of wordpress in a different directory just in case I did something that the theme does not like… same problem –

    the url is : https://www.netsolutionswi.com/nsw/

I am thinking that maybe the theme is not supported in WordPress 3.51 ? Even the theme options section is really messed up… and does not look like the screen shots in the theme docs…

Can someone clarify if it may be on my end or its just not compatible with the current version of wordpress?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  • Contact Bluehost using their Live Chat feature. It seems like you might have your domain configured incorrectly? Did you use Simple Scripts to install?

Well I talked with bluehost… and after checking into things.. this is what they said:

The domain looks to be configured correctly. It does look like the css isn’t working which is normally a db issue where the URL needs to be changed.

(9:17:16pm)Ryan P.:But yours looks fine. Which means there may be an issue with the theme itself.

It looks like it’s your file and directory permissions.

For any theme to work the browser needs to be able to read the theme’s style sheet. This is the link to yours.

    https://www.netsolutionswi.com/nsw/wp-content/themes/webfolio/style.css

Which gets me a 403 Permission Denied error. Show that to Bluehost, they may be able to figure out why that’s happening.

Oh my gosh Jan thank you soo much! the css file was a 755 but the webfolio directory was 700 … so once I changed that to 755 it worked!! ?? You are so awesome!! ??

Best Wishes to you and have a wonderful night!

    Sincerely,

    Debbie
