[Theme: Valor] Category Box?

  • Hi there guys, I’ve been using the Valor theme I found over at https://www.web2feel.com/valor/ – I really like the theme but there are a number of issues that I’ve had, the most pertinent at the moment is getting the reviews I write and the videos I post into their own category, so they can A: be navigated to via menu, B: be placed into the slider if required.

    The problem is that if I create a review instead of a traditional post, I do not have the option to put a category in. I don’t even have the option to change the Author! It’s fairly restrictive in that sense.

    Does anyone know a way to add category functionality to that aspect of the theme? I’ve googled the heck out of this problem, but google keeps thinking I want to know how to add categories to a post or some other very basic thing.

  • hmm maybe try adding a custom taxonomy? (Google it) There are many plugins that will let you do that but whatever you do DO NOT , DO NOT install the types plugin that will remove the metabox which let’s you set scores in the review section.

    Thanks for this, I’m looking into it now and will update my progress as it happens. I wish it were as simple as just adding categories to the two custom sections.
