• When I was upgrading the Weaver 2.2.xx theme it was taking ages with no response..I checked the blog and it had come out of maintenence mode and all seemed to work so I navigated away from the Updates page.

The site seems to be working fine, but I get this message on all my admin pages:

An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.

When I check for updates it shows all are up-to-date.

Would I be safe to remove this warning? And if so, then how?

    Thanks!

  • Delete the .maintenance file found in the WordPress root/base folder, the do the Upgrade again.

Thanks gary. I will try that.

EDIT: I cannot find any .maintenence file….

The upgrade seems to have worked but just the error message.

WordPress deletes the .maintenance file once the upgrade is complete. It’s just an empty file that prevents your system from being accessed or changed during the upgrade process. You are probably safe, perhaps you could try activating a different them, then re-activating Weaver.
