I updated WP today to the 3.3.2 version today, and then proceeded on to update my Athualpa theme from 3.7.3 to 3.7.7. Per the instructions on the Bytes for All forum, I did the theme update manually* and installed the theme via FTP in wp-content/themes under a folder named “athualpa377.”
*Downloaded theme, deleted stock images and added in my custom images for background, header, favicon, etc..) and renamed folder to “atahualpa377” so that I could upload the new theme but still have the older version intact if I needed to revert.

Went in to my WP dashboard and saw the new athualpa version 3.7.7 on the “Manage Themes” page as expected and activated it. Everything went smoothly, site is running properly and I am ALMOST a happy girl. However, on the Updates section of the dashboard, it is still asking me to update my theme- even though I have uploaded, activated, and am using the newest version. Why isn’t WP recognizing my update?

-try clearing cache in your browser before viewing the updated page. To clear cache in your browser, press clrl+f5 keys simultaneously. Also, try different computer/different browser.

After you have everything set up to your satisfaction, change the name of the “atahualpa377” folder to just “atahualpa”. If you still want to keep the old version around, rename it to something like “atahualpa-old”.

Thank you both- The athualpa377 folder needed to keep that name or bad things happened, but changing the name of the other to atahualpa-old did the trick.
