Theme Update

  • I wish to update the theme for my website theme to make it mobile friendly. I did not make the website but am trying my best to update. It says that I have twenty ten theme active but no version number and both twenty eleven and twenty twelve installed with available update. There is a warning that customizations will be lost? What does that mean? Any suggestions?

  • It means that because you’re using a default theme (Twenty Ten), when you update the WordPress core, it’ll update the theme and overwrite all the changes you’ve made to theme back to the standard theme design.

    Best thing to do is find another theme that is mobile friendly and change it to your liking. Or just don’t update your theme.

    Thank you Daniel for your response. I update the program and fixed a few issues the site was having. If I want to find a new theme, is there a way to get all the customizations over to the new theme?
