• Hi,
I just signed up for hosting through Namecheap. I wanted to create a WordPress website, so I went through cPanel and installed WordPress through an app called Softaculous (I followed these instructions from Namecheap’s official WordPress installation tutorial).

During the set-up, it asked me to choose a theme for my new website. Now I’m on the /wp-admin/ Dashboard, and I whenever I choose another Theme, it says activated but when I visit the site, all I see is the original theme I initially picked.

I don’t know how it works, but I’m thinking there’s something on Namecheap that is overriding my ability to pick a theme on my wp-admin dashboard. Please help!

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello @bizpop

When you go back to your WordPress dashboard, do you see the new theme selected and activated? WordPress > Themes

If yes, this could be related to the cache of the web browser, in this case just to make sure, try to load from your mobile device or a different web browser.

In case it still not working, I suggest contacting the provider, Softaculous application to install other applications, in this case, if there’s something wrong with the installation via softaculous they may escalate this case with the vendor.

    Hi @yasu88

Yes, the new theme Neve is selected and activated under Themes.

As per your advice, I tried to load it from my phone and a different browser on my laptop and unfortunately, the problem still persists.

I have now contacted the Softaculous support.
    I appreciate your help.
