• I would like to have a background image behind the page text, to show on all my pages. I have tried the plug in ‘Background Per Page’ but it puts the image at the top of the page which is not what I need so, I am guessing this would also need a new file in my child theme. Which file do I need to edit please?

  • It shouldn’t require a new template file in the child theme. Just some additions to your child theme’s stylesheet. Try using Firefox with the Firebug add-on for this kind of CSS troubleshooting. Or use whatever developer tool is available in your web browser.

Thanks esmi. I have looked at the browser add-ons before but find it a bit confusing working out where the files live. Not too clever with this sort of thing, it’s an age thing.

Ok I have had a look with Firebug and found the style sheet. But which do I need to edit? Do I have to declare a new definition if so where please?

Thanks esmi, that was a road that I did not want to go down. I was really looking for an easy way to do this.

Thanks Andrew, I have just had a look but saw this “plugin will no longer be maintained nor supported.

Though the plugin to date has had 0 (zero) reported security incidents, your continued use of the plugin will be at your own risk.

It is also not guaranteed to work with future versions of WordPress, with the latest known working version being WordPress 3.8.1.”

No solution found so I have abandoned the idea.
