I am using theme twenty fourteen, which automatically upgraded to 4.0.1 on 20th November (https://oxfordhumanists.org.uk/wordpress). I am using the Primary sidebar for a Resources menu and a Super RSS feed widget, and the Content sidebar for Upcoming events and Feeder Ninja widgets. Yesterday I added new plugins, wp-rss-aggregator and its extras Categories and Excerpts and Thumbnails.(I can’t get Categories to work but that’s another issue) and since activating these I notice that I have lost the Content sidebar on ALL pages, and the Primary sidebar on all pages using the default template rather than the full page display (which I am generally not using, as I want to include the Content Sidebar). I have tried deactivating all new and unused plugins one by one but it doesn’t seem to have fixed it.

If the solution requires code fixing I will probably need some hand holding please
Thanks for any advice and guidance
    Michele

Hmmm. I worked out that this was caused by problems with the All-in_one Event calendar, which I updated yesterday. Have deactivated this and will look out for a viable option for displaying events in the content sidebar. (any suggestions gratefully received)
