[Theme: Toujours] Social Icons do not show

So to begin, I am completely new to wordpress.com and .org, I don’t know the jargon nor how to’s to a lot of situations, but recently I’ve been using the toujours theme (https://toujoursdemo.wordpress.com/) on .org and was not able to have the social menu icons pop up on the bottom of the page (the footer). I was able to have social menu icons on .com, but when I did the same steps in order to recreate the same results, it did not show.

Yes I’ve read through the tutorials and been researching for a few hours as to see if anyone else has the issue or it was just me. Some fixes I tried was to have a child theme and remove the footer (thinking that it might have blocked the icons) but that did not work, also I did set up the menu’s properly. Unfortunately, my website is locally hosted on my computer as I’ve been trying to learn how to utilize .org better.

I might be beginning to think that the theme has some functions that aren’t supported in .org but are supported in .com. Could this theme be one of those cases, can’t seem to find a solution and I’m looking for insight, thanks.
