• I just spent a week looking at themes… I literally previewed and installed about 100 themes and saw some beautiful ones and some interesting ones, but the one thing all of these theme had in common was the lack of features to customize the theme. If you wanted to customize the theme you had to go in and code it differently, in other words make a new version of the theme.

This is not the case with the “SUFFUSION” theme. Although the theme might not be the most beautiful them eat first sight, it is certainly the MOST CUSTOMIZABLE, the MOST FLEXIBLE and the MOST POWERFUL theme I have seen amongst the 100 or so that I installed on my blog.

When I looked at the Theme Options (which are properly displayed under the “Appearance” tab) my eyes almost popped out! The features are ENDLESS, so many that it is intimidating at first! Other themes that I have seen lack the most basic features (such as the ability to replace their logo with yours), but with this theme you can change literally ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. You have a color palette picker for your colors, a set of pre-defined color themes, ability to add, change, append CSS, JavaScript, RSS etc without ever having to look at a line of code, sizes, fonts, sidebars and so much more.

I am VERY IMPRESSED and THANKFUL that somebody understood the importance of giving a user the ability to fully customize a theme if they are making the theme available online for download.

THIS IS WHAT EVERY OTHER THEME SHOULD STRIVE TO BE LIKE!

In fact I would suggest that the WordPress theme takes a close look at this theme because it might want to consider making this the default theme, because of all the options for customization it offers. If this were the default theme, I am sure almost nobody would ever look at other themes.

If I had to say something negative, just to balance out all of the positive things, I’d say that it could use some help with the general presentation of the graphics (one can tell it comes from a very experienced coder, rather than a web designer) and it could offer some options for different buttons or different sets of layouts, but other than that I really can’t find anything bad to say about this theme!

I would STRONGLY recommend to anyone to try out this theme. Once you harness the power of this theme I assure you that you will never go back to another theme because every other theme will seem too limited in comparison.

Download and install SUFFUSION, make the changes you need from the Theme Options (no coding required!) and you are good to go. If you know some CSS you can make pretty things without having to alter the SUFFUSION code at all so that it’s always easy to update to their new versions (I’ve been using the theme for 2 days and there already is a new version!).

The theme even has a support forum of its own! I just don’t know how else to tell you: THIS IS HOW THEMES SHOULD WORK!

  • This is a superb theme with all of the versatility that is made available through the various options. I have had a great deal of fun finding what works for me.

The only thing that I have had a problem with is the magazine template. Nothing I do with it changes the page at all. I have tried many various combinations of settings, but the page remains the same (very nice) blog page.

Other then that, my compliments on a wonderfully designed theme. Thank you very much sayontan for making it available.

    Thanks, cscottb!
This is probably your post: https://www.aquoid.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=401. I did explain how to view the magazine template there.

This is my first (and maybe only) post on www.remarpro.com. I started blogging on wordpress.com a year ago and recently moved it to my own domain so I could do more with it.
I’ll leave it to others to rave about the technical features of suffusion. What I’ll say is: FANTASTIC! I LOVE this template.
It is user friendly. It is complex, but not complicated. Among its many built-in features, I am most taken with the “Featured Content”, which displays featured post in a rotating section at the top of my homepage. I saw an immediate increase in hits on these posts in the first two days my blog was up!
I am not usually an effusive person, but I LOVE suffusion and am in debt to Sayontan.
All I can say is download, play with and find out for yourself what this template can do.

    Thanks, resistanceisfruitful!

Wow, thanks for your quick response Sayontan. Yes, that clarified everything. The templates are for use with pages… of course!

I had every possible option selected when I created the page, and, needless to say, it was quite full. I will have a great time playing with it.

And as resistanceisfruitful pointed out on your forum page (linked above), it can then be made the homepage; which answered my next question… having categories set as my navigation, there was no actual Home link on the nav bar (of course you can click the title in the banner but…). So I assume if I set the nav bar to put one tab up for pages, and direct it to the magazine page it will then display as a Homepage link on the nav bar ??

Now my question is, if I title the magazine page “index” will it be picked up as the home page of the website url, or will the php main wordpress homepage override that?

    Ahhh, so much to learn.

Your awesome Sayontan, I wish you the best of luck, and much success; and will kick something back to you if I ever start to make any money off this web stuff. You have made it a much easier experience.

And I echo what resistanceisfruitful said above, it is hardly like me to lavish this much praise on anything.

Wanted to say thank you for giving me such a awesome theme!! I love every feature and it is very easy to manage!

    Thanks, dos3age

Ditto to all the other commenters. I’ve used both free and premium themes in the past and usually have a terrible time bending them to my will. This was by far the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had. Fantastic job!!

    Thanks, perpetualjon!

    I too love Suffusion.

Tech type stuff is not my forte but with Suffusion, I keep getting better at customizing each day.

It really is the best free theme available.

I have purchased about 4 themes and none of them hold a candle to Suffusion.

    Thanks for a great theme.

    Thanks, press8151!

5 stars rating, and congratulation from me. i’m using this theme from version 2.0.2
before i have previewed like 200 themes, and tested like 30. Suffusion seems to be the most powerful.it has more options that (superstars) premium themes like Thesis or Aperture.
it’s highly customizable using a graphical interface, easy to save or load config, with explanation and FAQ to each setting, custom CSS using graphical interface, external javascript loader, floating sidebars, dhtml menus … and many more.

    Thanks, eliz82 and mathaios68!

    @eliz82,
You are probably one of the first users, given that 2.0.2 was the second version of the theme and the first to feature options.
