    Am I missing something?

Probably. The options are not supposed to come up on the custom post edit page. They are supposed to come up only if you set a page template to a “Custom Post Type Archive”. In other words, the layout options apply only to archive views.

So I can not change the layout of custom posts at all? Is there a way I can cange settings so this is an option?

    Sayontan,
If I have have a way to insert this option into the custom post type edit page, and need a post template file for two side bars in the root directory of the child theme, which Suffusion file would I copy across to achieve this?
I want to have most posts display only one sidebar, but the custom posts need two as they have additional information – ie custom fields – that will not display in the body of the post.
I have tried using 1l1r-sidebar.php and simply changing the name, but this gives me the same format as the other posts – one sidebar. Are the settings elsewhere?
    Thanks

look for function that implements options for posts and try to add custom post type there.

@naomia I suppose that you might use the default layout option in mode 1left/1right that will apply to all custom as it is defaulting and in the same time you can opt for a 1 sidebar layout from options in post edit when editing posts…
just a trick but should make it, if i understand your needs.

    Thanks opa
That’s what I ended up doing in the end, using SQL to upload the extra field into all the posts. Time consuming, but it worked.
