Theme Slider Compatibility Issue

When I installed this plugin, it seemed to cause an issue with my themes slider. I am currently running the latest version of word press 4.4.2 and my theme is call Lectura from Academia Themes.

if you compare the two you’ll notice the images in the demo slider are cropped to be the same height as the faded white area on the left. After I installed this plugin the theme stopped cropping the image and started using the thumbnail version. I had to edit each post and manually crop the images in a way so that the looked somewhat reasonable on both the home page and the post.
