Theme: Simple Photo

Forgive me if this is somewhere more obvious on the great Internets, but I’ve not found it.

Issue: I want the header menu to appear as well as the category menu, but I am getting a double dose of the category menu. I am calling them ‘header menu’ and ‘category menu’ based on code that appears in the header.php file.

I should be able to manage these menus in the Appearance>Menus tab, but I added one menu and it appears in both places. Also under ‘Theme Locations’ I get: ‘Your theme supports 0 menus. Select which menu appears in each location.’

I know I am missing something terribly obvious. Perhaps there needs to be some sort of update in the functions.php file.
