• Using SG-Double theme to learn.

Theme has a few widget areas with titles Profile (Page) Second column, and Profile (Archive) First column.

    Hello again!

It’s difficult to answer questions specific to a particular theme. It’s usually best to ask such questions in your theme’s dedicated support forum. It appears your theme isn’t actively supported, so I’ll hazard a guess.

When you create a new page, there’s likely a selection of templates in the Page Attributes box. I’m guessing that if you select Profile or Archive template, they will have columns that support widgets. They would be coordinated with the areas on the widget admin screen. If you are using the customizer, the proper areas might only be visible when a page with the correct template is being viewed.

When you publish a page with the correct template, widgets added to that template’s widget area will show up when you view that page.

Thanks (again)! I understand keeping this forum clear of particular theme topics.

I’m doing this work for a small local non-profit. I had them select a theme and it ended up SG-Double. They probably couldn’t have picked a more comprehensive theme. SG-Double is actually a child of SG-Window so it even complicates things like inserting a little custom styling.

For now, though I’ll do some testing based on your guess.
