• I am running a custom theme on one site I created which is a responsive theme. It is a simple grid theme and on a desktop is places 3 rows of thumbnails on the home page. When I open it on a smaller sizes screen, like a vertical tablet, it opens with only 2 rows of thumbnails. And on smartphones it reduces it to 1 row of thumbnails.

On smartphones though, when scrolling down the thumbnails from top to bottom, the thumbnails shift a bit from left to right within the thumbnail area when swiping with your finger to scroll.

The shifting of left to right serves no purposes as it does not let you do anything more to zoom, expand, or increase the size of the thumbnails in any way. So it is just an annoyance to the user experience and makes it more difficult for the eyes to follow what is happening during scroll.

It also does the same thing on another site where I am using the same theme for a blog and when you go into a blog post. It shifts a bit left and right as you scroll down the text and again serves no purpose.

I would like to be able to make the scrolling more smooth for people so that the thumbnails and text don’t shift left or right and are frozen center when scrolling.

Is there perhaps a short bit of code I can add which will prevent the thumbnails and text within a post from shifting left and right while scrolling so that it remains frozen in the middle of the screen?

    Cheers…
