  • It looked fuzzy in Chrome (some letters have some extra thick lines), but fine in Firefox. If you are seeing it fine, then I guess it is!

    Not sure how to put a screen shot here…

    Weird, I’m browsing with Chrome, too. You can upload the screenshot to your site’s media library, then just link to it here. ??

    You got it!

    I do see what you mean. I did some research, and this is pointing to an issue with Chrome for Windows (I’m on a Mac, which explains why it looks OK to me).

    You could conceivably replace the Alegreya font with something less fancy–adding something like this to your child theme’s style.css might work:

    body {
      font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    }

    But really, the problem lies with Chrome’s lack of font smoothing in Windows. :/

    You are wonderful! I will not touch anything right now…too scared to mess up my work!

    Looking forward to the update and getting rid of the archives and meta box!

    Hi, new on the post and having the same side bar issue. Do you know when this will be fixed ? thanks!

    The new update is available. I just installed and it looks good. Everything is back to normal.

    Hi Everyone, I just did the update and the widgets are working. However for me the widgets arent at the top right of the page, they are at the bottom of the page closer to my first post. This doesnt seem to be right. Please help!

    I created a child theme and I am continuing to change colors etc and customize the page before I write real posts (just playing around right now with random text and photos for look) But I also cant seem to find the code to change the Widget headers from the green boxes to another color. I may just have to look harder. But the widgets should be at the top of the page right??? Please help!

    Oh and my site is https://www.laurabumbala.com/wordpress Thanks!

    Laura, try disabling your child theme to rule out a conflict with the new style sheet. If that doesn’t work, please post a new topic since your issue is not related to the original post. Thanks!

    Hi, when the update was released it did fix the sidebar widget problems (thank you!), but I still have the issue with the no-sidebar page template. I have an amazon store page and it gets cut off. (https://www.lesserhomesandgardens.com/my-store/)

    I was thinking the brown background should go all the way to the right, but instead there is a white space. I checked it in Chrome and Firefox and it’s the same in both.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Kerry. This is an issue with the code you’re embedding, not the theme. The content area allows content to extend all the way, but the embed is not that wide. (For example, if you placed several paragraphs of text in that area instead of the iframe it would fill up the full column width.)

    Oh darn! Thanks for the quick reply. I will see what I can find out about the iframe.

    But really, the problem lies with Chrome’s lack of font smoothing in Windows. :/

    Unfortunately somehow this exists on the mac too. I am using Safari (5.1.7) and some times when I load a page some headings get crispy. After refreshing the page, sometimes it appears fine. I also tried with Google Chrome, but it happens there too.

    Any ideas? My gf loves that font and we would hate to change it with a simple one like Arial ??

    I’m using the same version of Safari and have yet to experience that problem myself. There’s not really anything I can suggest, as font smoothing is not controlled by the theme but by your browser/OS. You’d have to look for support there. Sorry!
