Theme Preview (Confusing Appearence)

  • Having the twentyfourteen extended plugin installed and active and the twentyfourteen theme active, when previewing any other theme the sections of the twentyfourteen extended confusingly apper in the theme preview customizer…

    since the twentyfourteen extended doesn’t have reasonable effect on other themes I believe it’s sections should appear only when previewing the twentyfourteen or it’s childs…

    It appears because the “active” theme is TwentyFourteen or its child theme.

    If you activate any theme that uses the customizer and you then preview another theme you’ll see the same effect. That’s just how the customizer works.

    I had meant to say “If you activate any plugin that uses the customizer and you then preview another theme you’ll see the same effect”.

    Currently plugins do not have a away to unhook themselves when a theme other than the active one to which they are attached is being preview. At lease not to my knowledge.
