I do not want to get themes & plugins exposed by theme detectors available on the internet like wpthemedetector.com (There are so many) for security concerns. I am using a security plugin to hide themes, plugin detection. But it looks like, they are still identified. We are also getting many IPs list trying to attack theme files and folders. So we REALLY NEED to hide the name. PLEASE HELP

Hiding WordPress themes and plugins is the wrong and dangerous approach. It’s not a security measure as well. It’s dangerous because it gives you a false sense of security. Themes and plugin can be easily detected (hint: static asset files); this is the nature of the WordPress folder structure and nothing installable like a WordPress plugin can prevent them from being detected. Instead of using dumb hiding plugins created by naive or/and rogue coders, you have to use a security plugin that protects the website and mitigates malicious activity.

Of course, we are using security plugins which are best. But as u said dumb plugins, we found this https://codecanyon.net/item/hide-my-wp-amazing-security-plugin-for-wordpress/4177158
It means they are scamming people?

For the time being, no, they are not scamming, they’re taking advantage of ignorant newbies (which is normal nowadays). When they started a couple of years ago with the sole function of hiding WordPress, ignorant people and newbies were buying their stuff. Over time, while people becoming more educated, they realized that selling the idea of hiding WordPress is not so profitable anymore, they started adding some real security features taking ideas from real security plugins.

I just do not recommend trying to hide the fact that you’re using WordPress. This might protect your website from kids, not from real hackers, and brings you a lot of headaches due to plugin and theme conflicts. This is not the way you should really take to protect your assets.
