Theme not functioning properly

The Sela demo does not display the most recent posts, but you can accomplish that using a widget, which I see you’ve already done.

If you’d like to get a social media icons menu displaying at the bottom footer like on the demo, here’s how to set it up:

Then, I want my posts page “Journal” to be a grid page such as featured in the demo here: https://selademo.wordpress.com/page-templates/grid-page/.

The three pages on the demo are being displayed using three text widgets, one each in the First, Second, and Third Front Page Widget areas. Here’s an example of the HTML:

Yes, that helped a lot, but I still can’t get my category pages to display the child page in grid format. I don’t think I can apply widgets to those pages. Do I need to set them up as a landing page or something? If so, can you point me in the right direction? Or is it as simple as changing a setting on my posts?

That’s not how this theme is designed – there isn’t a simple way to display the category in a grid.

The grid page template is designed only for static pages, not post archives.
