Theme not displaying as in the demo

  • Helo… I am a new WordPress user. I installed a free theme from WordPress. But I am unable to view the theme as it is in the demo and also unable to edit the theme using page builder. After searching in google I installed the import demo data plugin. So that I can view and edit the theme by importing it. plugin is asking to upload an XML file of the theme..but the theme does not have an XML file. I tried many other themes. None of the themes have an XML file in them. what I have to do..?? Only logo, menu, slider, and one box is showing up in some themes and in some other only logo and menu. And that too empty without any pics or text as in the theme..and uneditable Plz, help…

  • The theme in the demo has content which is not part of the install. You need to provide content in some way. Either create individual pages or the way you have tried by importing data. You need to have an export of a WP site (which is an xml file) and then you should be well on your way.
