• Hi all,

When i create a post in gallery format, the post contains photo thumbnails at the top of the post, i would like to be able to have a body text above the photo thumbnails.

Additionally when using the gallery setting i have another set of photo thumbnails appearing at the bottom of the post. Clicking these photos does not produce a pop out gallery viewer.

    In summary:

    1. How do i get my text above the thumbnails?

    2. How do stop the second set of thumbnails from appearing?

    3. I require the pop out gallery viewer to function.

I have edited the code to allow me display text above the thumbnails in gallery format posts.

Still have not resolved the double thumbnail issue.

Please help as this is the last issue i need to resolve before this new website can replace my existing.

    Hi there,

Did you get an answer as to how to insert text above thumbnails?

To get only one set of thumbnails delete the [gallery] shortcode.

    Friends!
    Please help a newbie!
I’m looking to delete the second set of thumbnails in gallery.
I have edited my gallery html to remove the ‘posted by…etc’
but I can’t for the life of me figure out what the “Gallery shortcode”
    is. this is my code:

[Code moderated as per the Forum Rules. Please use the pastebin]

    What do I delete?!?!
While we’re at it, how do I remove the “Image 3 of 17” sometimes it overlaps the type I have entered.
Thank you so very much in advance!

Can you please tell me how you got the text above the gallery thumbnails?? There is no coding in the html page nor is there a gallery icon or box to put the text above.

For those trying to get rid of the thumbnails at the top in gallery format posts, you need to remove (commenting out is best) the line in content-gallery.php which says (enclosed in php tags) minimatica_post_gallery() . It’s line 13 or so.

Of course, this isn’t really a permanent solution, since it will break when you update the theme. Best would be to make a child theme.

Any chance you know how to move text to the top of the page instead of having it at the bottom in gallery?

There is no html coding, nor a box that I can simply move the text above it.
Been trying to find an answer for this for a while….
