[Theme: Minimatica] how to show images on homepage

Hi. I’m trying to add the slider and images to my home page, which is a static page (not post). It’s not happening. Do I need a plugin? Is there a tutorial for this? I’ve done a fair amount of WPing and this isn’t intuitive at all.

I’m new to wordpress and I am using the Minimatica template. How do you get images to appear in the included gallery? I haven’t a clue?

when you say “top gallery” what do u mean ? on the front page ? or in a blog post ?

1. if front page : just post featured image with each blog post and all images will appear there

2. if in a single blog post then choose gallery on the right side of a post itself and it will show photos

HELP!
I’m a complete “newby” with setting up a site so please bare with me if I don’t ask the questions exactly right. I’m using Minimatica and using the site for info, photos, and would like to put on a calendar of events.
1. I am not able to get anything posted to the “Home” page https://www.handpaintedandmore.com/home/ whether it’s text or image. Every time I try to post it keeps going to the second category. How do I get the “About Us” posted to Home category???
2. The sliding images are on the 2nd category (or is it menu?) and you have to get into that in order to get to the pages. Any way around that?
I tried looking at your responses above and others and I’m doing what is suggested but isn’t working.

Hi, I had the same problem: not be able to set images in the homepage.Anyway, I think I found the solution: all images must be upload as “featured image” in each post….

Okay so, I have the same problem even after I have set the pictures at “Featured Image”. They still don’t appear, help! https://www.peakhiking.com
Shall I upload the AJAX thumbnail plugins or Lightbox gallery plugins? Or does anyone know a better plugin that would help me on this situation?

How do I change the size of the popup (Lightbox or something) from the display image? Is it possible to have the image displayed full-size (My photo is 1400pix, but when photo is box, then photo is abaut 800pix )?

If you’re trying to post your image to the front page set it as a featured image, under ‘format’ on the left, click the image box then try to “sticky” your post to the front page.
Go to ‘edit post’
On the right side you will see ‘Publish’
Second line down there is ‘visibility’
tick on the box that says ‘sticky this post to the front page’

For those having trouble with image sizing most of my images are around 765×425 approx and look fine on the front page.

It was a lot of trial and error. I’m new to this stuff.
I went into ‘editor’ under ‘appearance on the left and removed all the
html coding under comments (save it somewhere else just in case you remove the wrong thing). I found the html to remove the “written by admin” and the time stamp so it doesn’t look like a blog(can’t remember where exactly) If you search this forum you will find the answer somewhere.

I’m totally new to WP and I found minimatica theme, loved it, so I downloaded it. I’m hoping to make more like “website” than “blogsite” and I want to have most of the pages “unchanged” on a daily basis and have only one page that’s the actual blog which I’d post something on the regular basis.

My question is – with Minimatica, can I set up the “start page” with 4 photos with “set” photos that does not change with every post.
From reading the forum, my understanding is that you can change those photos by “posting” – but can I set 4 photos I want them to be shown always?

If there’s a way for that, then my next question is – how can I set up those 4 pages for different purpose? eg. the first one to be “about”, the second one to be “gallery”, the third one to be “blog” and the last one to be “contact” etc?

I hope my questions make sense.
If anyone could help me, it would be much appreciated.

Hey everyone,

To have the photos from 4 posts (set as featured image each time) display on the home page:

Settings > Reading > Front page displays “Latest Posts” (not the 2 selections).

Create a “Blog” category for other posts then add that manually to the menu.

I need your assistance with minimatic. First let me say I love the design. I’ve got it setting up the way I want but I’m having a few issues. I host a radio sports talk show and I would like to get the first picture to link to that shows webpage and I can’t figure out how to do it. Secondly I would like my blog link to mimic the one you have on the sample site and I can’t figure out how to get it to work I know it has something to do with the archive page but I’m stuck. Please help me.

First of all a big thanks to Daniel for creating this great theme.

I have a little experience with coding but none with php. I was hoping someone could direct to the part in functions.php where I can change the thickness of the default images on the home page. I would like to have 5 posts available on the home page, but would like to keep the width smaller overall. I’m not sure by how much exactly, and am willing to use some trial and error once I know what part of the code to modify.

hi everyone,
I love this theme but I need some help understanding how to do certain things. I thought I had it all figured out but now it does not seem to be the case.
I really want to have 4 particular featured images for my home page. I set that up as an image post and designated it a featured image. they look great. But then when I continue to make any blog posts they also show up on the home page even if I don’t designate it as a feature. Why is this happening. I have a blog roll why wouldn’t my usual blog posts just show there? How do it get it so only the 4 designated posts with an image stay on the home page (no more no less)?

I did just do the upgrade today, I saw some other post that mentioned maybe this was a bug that would be fixed by the update but I don’t think that was the case here.
