[Theme: Matheson] How to edit homepage in more detail

Hey there, I like the look of this theme over most of the other ones the group I am part of has suggested we use, but one thing I can seem to figure out how to do, which really irks me; I can’t edit the home page using HTML (like every other page)

Any ideas on how I can do this? I really want to have the homepage somewhere which I edit to add content, and not have posts there, as I want it to be a place for information, not a place for new posts to go, which people could click and comment on (we don’t want interaction on our posts, unless otherwise specified, if that makes sense)
