Theme just reverted back to an older version and deleted everything?

    Hi everyone,
    I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. My wordpress website using this theme just erased all the changes I made since September 13 and the whole site is back to that time. Has this happened to anyone else? I’m very upset because it was a lot of work done between then and now. Any insight would be so appreciated, thank you all so much!

    Thanks for posting your question. I’m sorry to hear this happened. I’ll do my best to advise you. Which changes are you referring to?

    To confirm. There isn’t anything built into this theme that can automatically upgrade or downgrade it. As the author, I don’t have any control over that. Downgrades have to be manually done using a ZIP file and upgrades have to be manually run from the WordPress Dashboard > Updates page.

    All WordPress themes and plugins completely overwrite their own folder during theme updates. If you make changes to a theme’s stylesheet via Appearance > Editor and then go to Dashboard > Updates and run a theme update, changes made via Appearance > Editor will be lost. This is standard across all themes and plugins. For theme customizations, a child theme or Custom CSS plugin should be used. The contents of your Custom CSS plugin looks ok.

    Are you certain that a version number downgrade has occurred? Had you previously noted the version number at Appearance > Themes and then checked it again and found it to be lower with no action from your side?

    Thank you so much for responding. I found out it was my hosting company; they’re updating their servers so something must have happened. Again, thank you so much for even replying!
