Theme issues since latest update

Also experiencing the same issue, all excerpt/summary text on my landing or any page has disappeared.
if i disable the plugin the text returns.

please advise a fix, or how to rollback the plugin..

I can confirm. I also noticed this latest update effects excerpt output.

Same issue here. Lost all location branch/telephone numbers on 150 websites (multi site structure).

Add me to the list that updated and lost all references to excerpts on pages. Deactivating plugin fixes pages but of course no event manager

I am also experience this problem.

For those that are wanting to roll back (slapped wrists for you not making a backup before you updated.)

Please find the previous version available to download at https://github.com/fredbradley/events-manager which I recovered from a backup. It’s the last stable release before today’s update.

Hi All, can you please be more specific as to what exactly you’re using to display your event info, and what you’re expecting to see, so I can try and reproduce this on my side?

Also, has anyone tried switching themes to a default WP theme to see if the expected output is correct? I have a feeling it may be theme related, but I’m guessing here since I’m not seeing any examples of what’s going wrong.

Also, are you referring to excerpts of other posts (i.e. unrelated content to Events Manager) or event content?

When using Events Manager 5.8 on my particular theme it seems to remove the Excerpt entirely.

See the two images. One with EM activated, and one where EM deactivated.

To confirm – these posts are not related to EM in any way, they are just normal news posts.

Hopefully we’ll get this sorted out in the coming hours if not sooner. I already have my suspicions. I’m working with Fred now to replicate and fix.

Just updating you all here in one place… I’ve managed to reproduce the issue and will be getting back to you all very shortly with a fix (most likely a new update).

Specifically the business page template used as home page with TG image widget. should show excerpts from pages but they disappear when Event Manager enabled.

I’ve just updated the plugin to 5.8.0.1 which should fix the problem.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused, this problem has been in the dev version for months now, but it seems nobody using themes with get_the_excerpt() or the_excerpt() (including us running various of the default WP themes) tried the dev version…. and the bug slipped through unreported till now.

It is strange (and annoying) to think that the default WP themes don’t use something as basic and as commonly used as get_the_excerpt() – surely knowing the amount of developers that might want to filter it, etc.
