This is my first use of WordPress.. so i got 0 idea about what kind of error this was..

Warning: file(/home/dibo1522/public_html/wp-content/themes/Tribal 1.0/style.css) [function.file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/dibo1522/public_html/wp-includes/theme.php on line 180

Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Invalid arguments passed in /home/dibo1522/public_html/wp-includes/theme.php on line 180

this error shows up every time I install a theme.

the theme was installed successfully but this error shows just below the success report..

so will this theme still be advisable to use, in behalf of this error?

    another question would be:
why can’t i save the codes whenever i try to edit the template’s php such as header.php , footer.php etc..
I’ve already changed chmod of every file to 775 to make them writable but still the “save button” doesn’t show up..it keeps on saying i need to change .php to writable..

    thanks pals,
    criz

The Tribal theme lacks a critical file – style.css. I wouldn’t recommend using it – although you could try downloading a fresh copy to see if that helps.

As for your editing issues, have you tried changing the permissions of the wp-content/themes folder? Or even the permissions of the wp-content folder itself?

    Criz,

What WordPress version are u using? Did u install the latest version to see if that helps?

And on your chmod permission, try change to 777 as sometimes it works for me depends on which web hosting provides u are in…

I’m using version 2.8.6.. the latest version released..
as with the permission issues, I’ve done changing chmod to 777 and still can’t save it at the admin’s panel..
I guess I just have to skip with that since I can edit the php through the root.. It’s the only way..

Now, I’ve tried installing another theme, this critical error occured:

The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/dibo1522/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2009/11.

I can’t install this template now..
    this is the template demo:https://www.wpnow.com/demo/gamenow/

I dont know if this template is compatible or not..

and by the way, esmi and simonlim88,
    thanks guys..
    such a great help..

    oh ok…

what i would suggest is to check your permission for the following path:
    wp-content/themes

by default is 775, check it and see got any issue to activate default wp theme..if not, try 777.

The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/dibo1522/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2009/11.

as for this, your theme files should not be located or moved over there..try to check the directory to see if there is any php files..if yes, delete it..maybe malicious codes..as normally that directory is for pictures…

as for wpnow, it is a premium wordpress theme and normally it should not have any compatibility issue…perhaps drop them a line and see if they could provide more info….
