Theme Installation Failed

    Hi, I just tried to install a theme, using the zip file I downloaded from themeforrest, and I am getting an error saying the theme cannot be installed because it is missing the “style.css” file. But when I unzip the file myself I can see the style.css file is in the zip folder. I’ve tried reinstalling the theme a few times with no new results. I didn’t want to go to themeforrest first because I can actually see the file myself, so I thought it might be an issue in WordPress. Anyone have this issue, or anyone know where I should start to try to get it resolved?

  • I just tried to upload a themeforrest theme as a zip file and I am having a different kind of issue. I get this message:

    The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.

    The file is only 3.14 mb.

    I got mine resolved. The theme had a zip folder inside the folder after you unzip it. Confusing, but solved.

    I unzipped the big theme folder, found the theme folder within in, and then zipped that (since WordPress doesn’t seem to let you upload unzipped file). That’s when I got the error message.
