Theme images not showing up

I am having problems finding themes I like that don’t work on my page. There are themes I select and I can see a preview but when I install it the page does not display the images that are shown on the preview. I get grey boxes and everything else seems to look correctly it s just the images are omitted from the page. Can anyone help?
