[Theme: Hatch] Change "Author" to "Artist"

    I have a sit I am working on and they wanted me to change the post “Author” to say “artist”. I looked thru the files and could not find where to change it bc It looks like it is part of a shortcode “byline” or something. Can you help me find where to make that change in code. I dont wish to use a filter to change every instance of one to the other!

    Also when I first made posts it had area to choose a post type but now if i look to edit area it no longer shows place to change “post type” And it is not in the screen options to show it either. This is odd.

    Thnx …fixed now! This site started out as diff demo-ing domain name and i forgot it used same db when i moved it. I deleted demo site And db! So when u ried perm doamin ..w/o db it gave that error ??

    I had back ups tho so no prob …just 24 hrs agao so no major prob!

    Seems that the Author is only shown on the “Single-View” so you have to go to your Theme dolder and locate the “single.php”. There loo for “author” or the <div> with class “byline byline-author”, there you will find it. If not, locate “function.php” and search for the same.

    Some themes are outsourcing the exact code into sub-folders such as “inc” or something like that. there you have to look for files called something with “loop” in them. One of the solution would solve the problem.

    I found it in post.php by searching for “Author:” – changed to “Artist:” and am very happy now! Thanx for the help everyone! ??

    That is a strange Theme then. usually they would need to make it into single.php. Doh ^^

    But at least it is solved!

    I am using a diff theme now… but Hatch is still a cool theme! they just wanted more sidebar action on all pages…lol

    I don’t have to worry about the artist-author thing bc it uses- About ‘user-names’ instead.

    They like the new theme a lot btr! ??

    Well, then I’d say the prob?lem is solved and everything is cool. Congratulation on a running WordPress with a Theme you like ??
