Currently using Libra theme. I wanted to update it to the newest version but I made a lot of customizations to the templates and didn’t keep track (this was before I started I knew about child themes) so I found on a blog that rather than updating the theme, install the new version as a new theme altogether to see if it’s worth spending the time re-customizing the templates. So I installed the new version of Libra and activated it. There are too many customizations and I am also having some other issues with the new version all together so I deactivated the new version (but didn’t delete it) and re-activated the old version. Now it appears the new version has “hijacked” some of my pages even though it’s not activated.

Any of the pages that are blue are the “hijacked” pages and any of the pages in green are the correct pages. Before I restore from backup, I was wondering if there were any other fixes. Thanks.

I want to add when I am in the dashboard, all of the pages are being displayed in the correct color. So the “hijacking” is taking place on the pages on the internet. Also, I created child themes for both versions of the theme. When I tried to activate either one of them, I got the “Cannot write cache folder” error. I followed the instructions to changing the permissions from 755 or 777. Not sure if that information is useful but I thought I’d include it just in case.

I’m sorry but as you are using a non-WPORG theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developers – paid or otherwise. We only support themes downloaded from www.remarpro.com here.

Thanks for the quick response. I wasn’t sure if this was a WordPress issue or a theme issue. =)

Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Thirteen theme?

I know I marked this as resolved but I fixed the problem and wanted to share just in case someone else had the same problem. I have the plug in WP Super Cache. On the EASY tab, I clicked on Test Cache and then Delete Cache and now my pages are displaying correctly. I am not sure if it’s just a coincidence or not but my website looks fine now. =)

Esmi, I’m sorry, I didn’t see your post until I posted my comment above. I will try your suggestion and see what happens.

Esmi, yes, it does the same thing on the same pages with the Twenty Thirteen theme.

OK- leaving the 2013 theme active, now deactivate all plugins.

They are all deactivated now. The pages are still wacky.

Most of the site is still using the Libra theme. Try deleting the theme.

I am wondering if it’s a cache issue. I am hesitant removing the Libra theme altogether because I have a couple open tickets for other issues in with their tech support. They are in a different timezone and could be trying to work on my site. As an experiment, I reactivated the Super Cache plug in and selected Cache Tester and Delete Cache and now the website looks fine again. But what’s interesting is I tried to reactive my The Events Calendar plugin and it wouldn’t appear on my site until I did the Cache Tester and Delete Cache. I have never had that problem before yesterday. And the only things I did yesterday were A. Install the updated version of the Libra theme and B. I changed permissions of the cache folder from 755 to 777 per the instructions when I activated one of the the child theme and received the Cannot Write to Cache folder. I have a feeling it has something to do with the later? Thoughts?

UPDATE: I really believe this has to be a WordPress/cache issue and not theme. I updated a logo on an existing page. I could see the updated logo in the Media library but when I went to the page is the logo resides on, I could not see it on the website until I did the Cache Tester and Delete Cache step. Is there a way I can fix this or would it be best to just reinstall from my back up? I’ve already gone back to my cache folder and reset the number from 777 to 755 and it didn’t fix the problem. Grrr =/

I am wondering if it’s a cache issue.

I could not see any evidence of caching on your site. If you have been using a caching plugin, you might want to post on that plugin’s dedicated sub-forum about this.

I will post on WP Super Cache’s forum. Thanks for all your help, Esmi. It’s much appreciated.
