  • the theme just allowed to edit the copyright through theme option which is placed in left side footer.. the Powered by WordPress and the Graphene Theme is default footer. So from the beginning is always one column editable footer..

But I’ve seen other sites using the theme with copy on both sides of the footer….

try re-download your theme.. i’ve try to download theme and installed it, it’s seems normal so far.. copyright in the left and generator developer in the right..

I saw different websites with several columns of links in the footer. I know how to setup a footer menu, but I don’t know how to write a title text for each column without being a link it self. Plse write done exact code which and where I have to change. i think i will have to do it in the footer.php, best in e child theme. I can’t find out how to! Every detailed code would be very much appriciated!

My website where I want to build it is: https://med.sion.dioezese-linz.at/

    Thanks!

Those are the footer widget area. You can activate it from the Graphene Options page, navigate to your Widgets page and add whatever widgets you would like.

Thank you for answering! I was not clear enough in my question! How would you distinguish between the footer part after the content which in his columns can be organisied by the graphene options and you find 4 widgets in my example. And the part below with black colour which i again would call footer and where you can put in the footer-menu! In this footer-menu I can put some links but every column of links headed only by a link it self and not by a simple title.

I hope my question is clear now and somebody can help me!
    Thank you!

I see now. You are right; that’s the wrong answer.

Instead, use a custom menu. Leave main items to the left, and indent sub-items to the right. Add that menu to the footer widget area. The main items will each head up a new column.

Here is a tutorial for creating custom menus. You can see from there what I mean by “indenting sub-items.”

We are getting closer! Thx again!

As you can see here https://med.sion.dioezese-linz.at/ I was able to add a footer menu to that black footer at the bootom of the page. BUT the first item should NOT be a link but only a title. And thats my problem! I could make a second colum of links in this footer-menu, but again the title would be an link, what I don’t want! I looked around your tutorial, but could not find a solution. You will maybe realise that I need very basic codes as I understand very few about wp, and alsmost nothing about php.

Another question: Is it possible to use the text widget several time in different aereas? Till now I thougt I can use it only once?

Thanks for your help and Merry Christmas to you!

Yes, go back to your custom menu and change the link for the first item to “#” or just delete the link altogether.

Second question: Yes, you can use the text widget as many times as you like–I do, but with different things in each instance.

    @kjodle!

Thx a lot for your help! Although I had to restart my website https://med.sion.dioezese-linz.at/ completly because of problems with multilanguage I could understand your ideas and found out that also other widgets like links can be used more than once! Wonderful!

A link with # as title is possible, but still looks like a link. But anyhow it works better than my solution I try just now to bring the widget “links” into the graphene-footer place. this second solution looks nicer with the title but brakes to the left if there is nothing else written there: Again a mystery!

Would you also know how to make corecct css formation to bring the secondary menu into the topbar. When I try it now it brings all menu item vertical and not in one horizontal line like in the menubar below the header.

Where do I find this code which makes the nice menu and where do I have to put it in to get it into the topbar?

Would you need my style.css or any other file to look at?

Thanks again and all the best for the new year!
    Andreas
