[Theme: Franz Josef] Slider CSS Changes

Hey guys, I am a total CSS newb! Hence why I am using a pre-made template for a theme. I like the site layout and design for the most part, but the main page slider is set up so that the excerpt and main title are difficult to read over the main image.

I would like to know how i can go about changing this or what changes I would have to make to the CSS style sheet exactly. Here is my main homepage for reference, I only have up one draft article that I am using to test the home page slider: lazybusinessman.com
