• I installed a theme for a godaddy-hosted website I’m managing via wordpress, and it’s broken. Immediately upon installation the screen went blank and this message appears: ‘Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or ‘(‘ in /home/content/76/3431776/html/wp-content/themes/i-max/inc/kirki/includes/Kirki.php on line 3’

I’m unable to access any page whatsoever. The same message appears every time. I’m unable to log in and get to the dashboard to change the theme. This theme should really be removed until its creators are able to resolve this issues. In the meantime, do not by any means install the theme I-MAX.

I need to uninstall this theme and reinstall any other theme. Any course of action?

This is in regards to maritimemachines.org.

  • Same problem in my website, want to know the solutions.

May be opening and closing tag is left on themes/i-max/inc/kirki/includes/Kirki.php on line 3. Try to find it. If you are familiar with code you can do it easily. But if you are not able to do it, download the theme from www.remarpro.com and replace the file kirki.php. Olnly replace one file through wordpress directory theme.

Try it once, if not work, feel free to ask. I will do my best to solve you,
    Thanks

UPDATE: I was only able to solve this problem with help from GoDaddy, my website host. I believe they used the FTP login to edit the bad code and remove the theme, which caused wordpress to revert to the standard theme, allowing me to log in again and start fresh. That’s as much detail as I understand.

this just goes to show you that you should always have access to your server files…i would suggest through your host (cpanel) or through a third party FTP program. there are several free ones out there.
