• When I’m in the Theme Editor and try to search with “CTRL + F” my browser (Chrome) used to search the whole page including the code for the file I was editing.

Now it only search the page and not the textbox with code.

The textbox seem to have a feature of it’s own but I cant press “Next” and see more matches for my search term, or can I do that somehow?

Also, is there a way to bring the old editor back?

  • You have to click in the editor and then use ctrl + f. It will then search the code itself, rather than the page.

There is no “Next” as far as I can see, but locations of your search query are highlighted in the vertical scroll bar. Scrolling to that location, you will see that the search terms are highlighted in the file.

You are editing child theme files, right? Not an actual theme, I hope.

The “search” feature of the browser is not working anymore with the syntax highlighting enabled. And is a pain if you have to edit 140 websites via theme editor.
