Theme editor problem

  • Hello,
    Amazon text and image links were not working for me so I entered a bit of code into my functions.php file. I updated it and now the website will not load and is showing up as blank. I cannot get back to the theme editor because it seems my site has been wiped clean. https://www.howtojumphigherforbasketball.org

  • Sorry that happened to you. You needed to create a child theme so you can edit to suit your needs. Did you download a back up of the site files? Yours are still there, but because you edited the functions.php incorrectly, they will not show and you got the error message. If you do have the files backed up on your computer, and you can ftp to your server, you can just ftp the functions.php to the server under content / themes/theme name.

    Can you contact you hosting company and tell them the problem. Most will restore for you.
