• When I go to the theme editor page, the big editor text box thing is always way down below a bunch of useless white space, although the link bar to the right seems correct. This isn’t normal is it? Anyone else seen something like this? I’m using IE, nothing unusual. Also, I think it used to display the path to the file being edited, but now I only see it flash up for a second before it disappears someplace. Any ideas? I haven’t purposely changed anything. The thing with the text box being low has been like that since I first did the install. Thanks.

Okay, that’s how I _thought_ it should look. In my case, the text box with all the code is far below where it is in that screenshot. To the left of the sidebar is just white space. Also, the place where it says “Browsing wp-…” is non-existent.

Basically, it’s not rendering right in my browser it seems. But I’m just using plain old IE. What’s the deal? Can anyone help me?

It’s plain old IE that’s causing the problem and not respecting the CSS (I think CSS is the cause) I have the same problem. Using Firefox renders the page properly.

Really? WordPress does not work properly with IE? I know that the purists can get all high and mighty about standards and IE, but IE is used by 95% of the people. Is there a way to make it work right with IE?

Dont’ get me wrong, WordPress works fine with IE, but the layouts sometimes don’t work. I’ve noticed it with a few themes as well – eg the Elvgren theme. As it’s only me that works with my admin, and I don’t mess with the theme files that much, I don’t mind leaving it for now.

As to getting it to work with IE, that’s probably a job for the CSS experts…

It has to be something either with your browser or it’s a corrupted file. I checked in the “ancient” IE 5.5 and even there the panel shows up normally.

Hmm. I checked from work, where I use an older IE version, and it still looks messed up. I wonder if I accidentally changed a CSS entry or something. Anyone have a suggestion where to look? Maybe I’ll try Firefox and see if it works with that…

Is it the “official” WP position that this is not a problem because it’s IE’s fault?

Which IE version are you using, and what version of Windows ?

    IE 6.029 and Windows XP.

As I said it earlier: even on Win98 and IE 5.5 the Theme Editor looks … hmmm… decent ?? Nothing what you’ve described.

Well, I guess I’m asking for help. I see it like this on multiple different machines.

Same here with IE 6.029 and Windows XP.

    Any fix for this?
