• I’ve got several installations of wordpress and all of them have this bug. When I go to presentation – theme editor – then click on a file to edit, the link redirects me to the main page of the site.

I can only edit a file if I go to manage – files and type it in the field at the bottom.

For purposes of seeing what I mean, you can login here: https://designs.sacredsecret.net/wp-login.php with the username test and password test and go to the presentation section and try to edit a file in the theme editor. If it lets you, my goodness, let me know, if not, then please help me find a solution :X

Is anyone else having this problem and if they are is there anyway to fix this? It is more an aggravating bug than anything.

  • Whoa. I’ve never seen that before, but I can confirm it happens for me too (on your blog, not mine. mine works as expected!). How odd.

Anything unusual about your domain/sub-domain and hosting? Any redirects going on?

I have a reseller account, so I put the subdomain up as if it were its own domain. Problem is, that doesn’t seem to matter for the error, as I get it for all my sites except the main one, where I had had the error but had reinstalled wp and it worked fine after that. However, I’ve already reinstalled wp on the designs site and it still does that.

I don’t know if it is something I’m doing wrong or what it is.

If there’s a redirect involved you may see this…. wp is pretty uncool with redirects.

Nothing redirects anywhere that I know of. Designs.sacredsecret.net is set up as if it were its own domain and is treated as such (has its own cpanel and fantastico) so nothing is redirecting anywhere on my end or teh site, just when I want to edit a page via the theme editor.

There is something wrong with the theme-switcher. I logged in and de-activated it ??
Now you can edit any file in the theme editor.
Actually I added a conditional to the theme-switcher code:
    if function exist etc.
so it doesn’t break the sidebar when de-activated.
    Happy bloggin’!

    Thanks! Funny how it still did that on my other blogs and I’m not even using the theme switcher on them x.x;;

That was the only other one that did it tho, the others stopped so I guess all is good ??

    Thanks again!

I too am using Theme Switcher, and I was wondering if there is a work-around for this. Whenever Theme Switcher is activated and I go to edit a theme in Theme Editor, it just redirects me to the main page, as stated above.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? It’s rather annoying to have to deactivate Theme Switcher every time I want to edit a theme.

    Thank you.
