it might be better if you add a CSS class to the widget divs; in this line, for example:

'before_widget' => '<div class="sub-slider-widget">',

and use that to style the widgets; example:

.sub-slider-widget { float: left; width: 300px; margin-right: 20px; }

I’ve added another widget with float right so that I may feature two article in the mainpage with an improved layout if compared to the one widget only.
