Hey… I want to upgrade to 3.0.5 but my host is having a problem. I installed wordpress onto my website using the one click install they offered… and, if you installed wordpress with the one click install, When you push the “Automatic Update” button, it just loads and loads. They said f i install wordpress myself, it will work. I have a theme that has some modifications made to it… I was wondering… If I download the file for that theme off of my FTP client, will it keep the mod’s so I can re-upload? Or, is there a way I can download all the info off of my site, do the upate, then upload it all again?

  • Yes, you could back up your theme by downloading theme and saving to computer. If you already have content in your site, recommend that you export XML from Tools > Export, download wp-content folder from server and get DB backup.
