Theme development: Get part of specific page to display on my startpage

I’m developing a theme and I would like to get part of a specific page to render on my startpage, in my front page template. As for now I have the_content() from that specific page displaying on my start page, but I would like to just get the first six child divs, not all of the content, to the startpage. I have no idea where to start solving this and would very much appreciate it if someone can give me some tips on where to get started. Thanks!
