you would need to use a img softwear like infran view you need to change the size of the image before uploading it to your site.. or if you are looking to make the default header box a different size. if so you need to find that box sizes in your editor and change the numbers there…

I tried the former option using windows paint but it doesn’t seem to work..

As for the latter, I’m not actually sure where to edit in order to make the default header smaller.

Paint will not work it distorts the image I love infran view for so many things they have a resize resample picture section in image tab it will help you resize it you can download it for free at google. and as for the header box it is in the editor spot and on the right it will say header you will have to find the box and change the whith and hight there

Another thing I want to do is add a list of employee birthdays to my page.
I am unable to find any plugin that can do this.

I think you would have to set up a list your self and you would have to put it somewhere If your theme has a side bar you can go to the widgets area and select text you can put all your info in there than drag the text box to one of yout side bars, I take that all pack go to plug ins and search birthdays there are like 20 of them. there is a plug in you can surch them by putting in birthdays
