    Hello!

First of all: your theme looks very promising! I hope I will get past the first hurdles…

My problem right now: I cannot get the Customizer to even get started!

First I get the error message ‘The theme directory “cosmoswp” doesn’t exist’.
Well, it does! I checked via FTP. It’s also not empty.
Then the error refreshes straight to “You need a higher level of permissions.”

Collage of the screen captures: https://snipboard.io/sJmEkb.jpg

    Background information:
    1. I’m logged in as ‘administrator’ [and even my wife gave me permission ?? j/k ] There shouldn’t be a higher level of permissions.
    2. I’m using a freshly created staging site on my server.
    3. the site runs under WP-Rocket and CloudFlare (could Cloudflare be the problem?).

    4. initially I had a different problem with the Customizer: inside the Customizer the admin dashboard would load a second time, instead any theme preview. I’m currently using a static frontpage, which was done with shortcodes (but not a page builder). Once I disabled this frontpage and switched to blog roll on my live site, the theme was recognised and it asked me to download a template, which I did WP Blog1 – – – after these steps the problems above started.

Would you have any suggestions as to where the problem might be?
    Thanks!

    Hello @webbeetle ,
    Thanks for your feedback.
Regarding your query, it is new for us too, we are even using this theme on our own site and tested with some other but couldn’t replicate the issue.
We have few suggestion to resolve this issue:

    • Please deactive all plugins and check if customizer is working
    • Delete CosmosWP theme, reinstall and activate it and clear cache from WP-Rocket, CloudFlare and Browser

let us know if this fix the issue.

    Best Regards!

I can’t get this solved, but what I can (hopefully) say by now: it’s not an issue with your theme! It happens with other themes too.

Right now I had a crash “Error: This theme failed to load properly and was paused within the admin back end.” There are reports on the internet about these issues, one solution should be: https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/306673/you-need-a-higher-level-of-permission-after-admin-changing-why

I will close this ticket since I’m fairly sure it isn’t related to your theme as such.

    Hello @webbeetle ,

Yes, it is not related to the theme. If you find any issue or have any problem using the theme you can always open a new support thread.

    Best Regards!
