• Is the additional CSS tab in the customizer from the left pane a safe place to add custom CSS in a full site editor theme?

Since not all the options have been developed to configure the blocks without code, I need a way to add custom CSS.

I’m using a workaround inserting an html block in the footer template. Also it is possible to open the customizer from the customizer button inside the themes admin /wp-admin/themes.php but I don’t know if this option is going to be removed in the future.

  • Hi
The link to the customizer is removed from the menu in the admin area, but the customizer can still be reached by going to the wp-admin/customize.php.

So, it depends; if the user who adds the custom CSS is an experienced user, they will probably be able to follow instructions to do that.
(They also need a user role with permission to make changes in the customizer.)

If they are not an experienced user, it may be very confusing to enter a customizer area where not all options work.
-I have not attempted this, but it should be possible for the theme to disable all panels in the customizer except the theme information panel and the additional CSS panel.

The theme could also add an administration page with a link directly to the additional CSS panel, or even add the menu item back.

Can block styles be an alternative to adding custom CSS?
